WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE ARCHITECTURE ?
Okay that's an interesting question! I come from a business background as my father had a playing cards shop at Crawford market, Mumbai. A place that had not changed in past 150 years and I simply could not imagine myself selling playing cards, sitting there.
WHAT IS YOUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY?
Oomph factor! Very simple, a person entering the room should be in a aww stuck condition.
WHAT IS THE MANTRA THAT YOU'VE RELIED ON IN BALANCING FUNCTION WITH AESTHETICS?
Our forte has been luxury with jaw dropping designs. Clients have come up to us after we've put in about ninety lakhs in a bathroom saying please do add some more dreams to reality. If you wish so I guess that's our mantra. Bathroom with aesthetics as well as functionality where bathroom has eucalyptus oil dispensed in shower built in, sensor steps for LED lights etc.
TALK ABOUT THE SKILLS THAT HAVE SERVED YOU BEST IN YOUR CAREER.
The only thing that helps you best in your career to grow and achieve what you want to is imagination. I myself believe that one can design anything and everything and this depends on the imagination he/she has.
WHAT ARE THE THINGS A BUDDING ARCHITECT SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO WHILE HANDLING PROJECTS? WHAT ACCORDING TO YOU ARE THE DO'S AND THE DONT'S IN THIS FIELD?
A person still the age of twenty should train, train hard. I would say the right master is a small organization and is better than a big one as he/she gets to do all pin to piano. The person is involved in all the chores and learns a broader perspective and only then should start his career.
MENTION FEW OF YOUR NOTABLE PROJECTS AND WHY THEY ARE CLOSE TO YOU.
Hult University in Bandra BKC.
WHO HAS BEEN YOUR INSPIRATION IN DESIGN?
Italy, Rome, Budapest, Prague, anything classical truly inspires me.
WHAT ARE A FEW OF YOUR FAVOURITE ARCHITECTURAL/DESIGN PIECES AROUND THE GLOBE?
WHAT DO YOU LOVE DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT DESIGNING?
Scuba diving, walking into a pond full of crocodile challenged in a show "who dares wins" and won the challenge. Next I'd like to take up cooking.
