A TALK WITH AR. ABHIGYAN NEOGI

AR ABHIGYAN NEOGI

  • WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE ARCHITECTURE ?

At the inception, interest in the art of sculpting drew my attention towards the art of crafting three-dimensional spaces into reality. With the increase in practice, my forte of designing hospitality interiors placed me on a crescendo of success which I am successfully running, with an undying passion, till date.

  • WHAT IS YOUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY?

For Ar. Abhigyan Neogi, it is always about people; hence, all my designs are people-centric. They are optimized to their needs and henceforth, the trend and design resolution is relative. We, as a team, believe in “being true to what we do” and creating impactful designs targeting more and more individuals.

  • WHAT IS THE MANTRA THAT YOU'VE RELIED ON IN BALANCING FUNCTION WITH AESTHETICS?

Architecture as a profession is ever evolving and advancement of technology and material has affected several aspects of the profession. Designers have to innovate and reinvent themselves so as to keep in perspective the global challenges and consciously tread the path of sustainability, alternative technologies and environment friendly solutions. Hence, architects are constantly evolving and learning to formulate a better world to live in. I believe that the role of an architect today has been extended beyond building a building for the sake of it, to offering a kaleidoscope of enrichment in varied fields with an apt mix of functional efficiency and plausible aesthetics.

  • TALK ABOUT THE SKILLS THAT HAVE SERVED YOU BEST IN YOUR CAREER.

Featured in the iDecorama top 100 Architect’s list, A&I top 100, i-GEN 50 and MGS top 50 list of the best architects & interior designers, Chromed Design Studio has long been in the industry of creating atmospheres than mere designs. Spearheading Chromed Design Studio, I have contributed my expertise towards the firm’s robust image in the design industry. I combine my sharp logical ability with joyful nature to create habitats that embody the wow spirit.

  • WHAT ARE THE THINGS A BUDDING ARCHITECT SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO WHILE HANDLING PROJECTS? WHAT ACCORDING TO YOU ARE THE DO'S AND THE DONT'S IN THIS FIELD?

I would like to encourage designers to treat their décor space like a playground, spaces where spontaneity and magic are de rigueur. Combine sharp logical ability with a joyful nature to create habitats that embody a wowing spirit. I believe that architects have an important role to play by creating designs that inspire sustainability, alternative technologies and environment friendly solutions. Innovation and the ability to reinvent, keeping the global challenges in perspective is the foremost motto that we at Abhigyan Neogi’s designs aim to implicate in every built environment.

  • MENTION FEW OF YOUR NOTABLE PROJECTS AND WHY THEY ARE CLOSE TO YOU.

A few of the celebrated projects designed by Chromed include Kampai, Kwality, INOX Jaipur, Vehere, Social Cyberhub, Vanya Mahal, INOX Nehru Place and Innov8’s office spaces. An architect carves each space with a considerable amount of effort and each of them are a glistening example of the hard work of an entire team of experts. Thus, all of the projects undertaken by our team are of integral importance to me, however, appreciation for a few of the above mentioned, etched their names with a little added intricacy.

  • WHO HAS BEEN YOUR INSPIRATION IN DESIGN?

Initially my art teacher in school - Jenson Anto taught me how to emote graphically. that is, it is possible to evoke an emotion on paper, and that inspired me to become a sculptor. Now, as a designer, I believe that each completed project which is appreciated by the client and end users is a recognition and an inspiration in itself.

  • WHAT ARE A FEW OF YOUR FAVOURITE ARCHITECTURAL/DESIGN PIECES AROUND THE GLOBE?

I believe that architecture is a dynamic process, churning the urban facades that govern the face of our booming city lives. I aspire to imbibe inspiration from all elements in the natural sphere, not just heritage structures or iconic built-up formats.

  • WHAT DO YOU LOVE DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT DESIGNING?

I prefer to travel and influence my ideology on architecture by the urbanscapes that surround the global residents. I draw out pertinent inspiration from the divergent styles that traverse the built environment around the world and implement them in an Indian context.

  • SHARE SOME OF YOUR VALUABLE ADVICE FOR OUR READERS TO GET INSPIRED OF.

As an architect, I feel that we have a social and cultural responsibility to create designs that uplift the human spirit in addition to the function they serve. “We create physical environment and subtly infuse positivity and relevance, which improve the quality of life. These collectives make architecture meaningful and fascinating beyond its physical manifestation. Sensitivity and responsiveness, nevertheless, will continue to govern our architectural practice so that engaging and collaborative environments are created. So I advice young aspiring architects to continue to demand better than before from your own selves and aim to keep going to deliver the best with each design.
